When you arrive, a greeter will help you find Sunday School and show you where the children's classes meet. The nursery is staffed during services, and you're welcome to come dressed however you're comfortable. There is no pressure — just a warm welcome and a Bible message.

Metro Baptist Church was founded in 1973 by Dr. John Vaprezsan, who served faithfully as pastor for more than fifty years before his retirement. Through three generations of families, the church's mission has stayed the same: preach the Bible, reach souls, and disciple believers.
Today the church meets on a twenty-seven acre campus between Ypsilanti and the Detroit Metro Airport, with ministries for every age and a Christian school on site.

Our Pastor
Meet Pastor Jim & Misty Humble.
Pastor Humble came to Christ during his service in the U.S. Navy and was trained for ministry at Colorado Baptist College. He and Misty have been married since 1998 and have four children and three grandchildren.
After serving as principal and co-pastor, Pastor Humble was installed as Metro Baptist's second pastor in July 2024. His prayer for the church is simple: that people come to know Christ as Savior and grow in their walk with Him.
